An underground corridor leads you from the main building to a state-of-the-art spa, where you can pamper yourself to the original Alpine wellness experience.

A corner of paradise with a lot to offer

The facilities: first of all, we offer our guests total rejuvenation. Starting with the striking surrounding landscape, the centre is wonderfully designed to blend in with the beautiful and lush Family Hotel Posta garden. This architectural feat combines a wellness centre with a range of saunas, including both Finnish or traditional hay sauna, with an amazing view.

A true treasure in this wellness paradise is undeniably the large relaxation area, where you can clear your mind and forget any worries. The relaxation area is beautifully furnished, mostly by using natural materials which embrace every aspect of rejuvenation. But best of all is the garden view, which soothes the mind and inspires peace and tranquillity. Not to mention the fireplace, which creates a truly romantic atmosphere in winter. Pure relaxation, in all its forms!

You will be pleasantly surprised by the many different beauty treatments on offer at the Family Hotel Posta in the heart of Val Gardena. If you and your family are coming to the Dolomites to spend your summer holidays, you can count on a rich calendar of events and a weekly programme of activities including high-mountain guided hikes accompanied by Silvio and Werner, merry jaunts for the whole family, barbecue events at our mountain hut (extra charges apply), taster courses of Nordic walking and free climbing, and a spectacular sunrise hike. In winter, take advantage of a well-rounded ski- and outdoor programme. Every day, Silvio accompanies proficient skiers on ski-guiding tours and ski safaris, while Christoph guides all interested guests on winter treks and snowhoeing hikes through the wintry lanscapes.
Since we want your outdoor experiences to be as pleasurable and fuss-free as possibile, we offer your a shuttle service and also the possibility to purchase your lift passes directly at our reception. When they are not exploring the stunning green of Val Gardena together with mum and dads, children and teens can have the time of their life at the playground, in the Timothy playhouse, in the heated pool or in one of the dedicated meeting points – the Dumbo Club, the Junior Club, and the Gnome’s Club, where they can play with a spoiling choice of toys and many new friends.

Family Hotel Posta is both a wellness hotel in Val Gardena and a true paradise for children of all ages. We like to give families the best possible holiday experience and we usually manage to exceed all expectations!

A stunning valley just waiting to be discovered and admired during your stay at the Family Hotel Posta.

Siusi Alpine pasture

The huge Siusi Alpine pasture is a year-round holiday destination. In winter it is ideal for sports enthusiasts, due to its being the largest high altitude mountain pasture in Europe. Take advantage of opportunities for downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and tobogganing for the whole family, as well as the Ski-Fun-Park and child care facilities. In summer, the Siusi Alpine pasture turns into a hiking paradise. Special tours (along local hiking trails) are on offer for the family, with games and entertainment along the way and breath-taking views.

Mount Pana

Mount Pana is a quiet place where you can stay in close contact with nature and practice cross-country skiing and snowshoeing with over 30 km of trails that branch out to altitudes higher than 1,600 m above sea level. Mount Pana also offers fabulous trails through forests and meadows which lead up to the Siusi Alpine pasture. Families with children may want to shorten the route by using the shuttle bus service. The games park and the chance to go on pony rides are among children’s favourite activities. They also love to go for rides on the horse-drawn sleigh. Mount Pana can be reached by car or by one of the lifts in the area.

Val d'Anna

Val d'Anna is a popular family destination. There is a path that passes through a beautiful forest and leads directly to "Annatal" where you can enjoy an afternoon snack. The path starts from the bottom station of the Seceda lift and passes across a picturesque wooden bridge. This simple path is 1.5 km long and takes about 30 minutes.

Sassolungo and the Selva forest in the Puez-Odle Nature Park are perfect for those wanting to enjoy mountain expeditions, cross country skiing or being in close contact with nature. The valley is narrow and approximately 4 km long. Two comfortable lodges are located at the beginning, allowing for some much-needed respite. Sassolungo is located right in the heart of the Puez-Odle Nature Park, surrounded on either side by the Stevia and Kedul mountains.

Seceda pasture

The fascinating Seceda pasture is perfect for skiing and hiking and surrounded by a breathtaking view. Sport is twice as fun on the Seceda pasture. Here, on the sunny side of Val Gardena, at the foot of the Cisles Nature Park, enjoy the warm sunshine and fantastic panoramic views that only the Dolomites can provide. From these high peaks you can also enjoy amazing views of the Dolomites in South Tyrol - from the Ortles-Cevedale group up to the Austrian Alps. Numerous itineraries are available in summer, while in winter you can also enjoy the Seceda-Col Raiser-Raschötz ski resort with peaks ranging from 1,200 m (Ortisei) to 1,500 m (Santa Cristina), and all the way to 2,500 m.

Culture and tradition

Val Gardena – the birthplace of Luis Trenker, museums and much more. Val Gardena is a valley in the Dolomites in South Tyrol. It is located in an area where people still speak the ancient tongue of Ladin - only 30,000 people have mastered this language. We suggest visiting the Ladin Val Gardena Ortisei museum where you can admire, among other things, a collection of carved wooden objects and toys. The art of woodcarving is part of a long and ancient Ladin tradition, passed down over centuries from generation to generation. It is one of the foundations of traditional handicraft carvings. You can also see fossils and minerals from the surrounding mountains. The famous mountain climber, actor, writer and director Luis Trenker (1892 - 1990) helped to sustain the museum. Other places of interest include the San Giacomo church with its Late Gothic frescoes and the ruins of the Selva castle.

  • Bolzano (Bozen): the capital of South Tyrol with a medieval style city centre, famous for its porticos and markets and a favourite of visitors. Visiting the Archaeological Museum will make you feel like part of history and help you to discover other marvels of this city. You can also see Ötzi (the Glacier Mummy) in this museum.
  • Bressanone (Brixen): an idyllic bishopric town founded in 901 AD at the point where the Isarco and Rienza rivers meet. With its narrow streets, venerable churches and ancient cathedral, this city is worth visiting.
  • Merano (Meran): a Central European spa town with a Mediterranean atmosphere, surrounded by green pastures and trees. Merano is fully protected by the majestic mountains featuring a mild climate and rich vegetation that flourishes throughout the year. Walk along the famous Sissi and Tappeiner avenues or through the beautiful Trauttmansdorff Castle gardens where you will feel perfectly at ease.

Treat yourself and your loved ones to a quality family experience in Val Gardena, in the heart of the spectacular Dolomites. We at Family Hotel Posta in Santa Cristina will do our best to offer you a carefree, regenerating time away from your daily routine. Come visit us!
