A holiday in Val Gardena is not only about experiencing the best ski slopes in South Tyrol. It is true that Val Gardena is famous throughout the world as the home to the world's largest ski lift, the Dolomiti Superski, with its 1,200 km of ski slopes in 12 prestigious ski areas. The Family Hotel Posta is located just 50 m from the first ski lifts of the Dolomiti Superski, where you can begin your tour of the Sella Ronda. More than 80 modern ski lifts ensure excellent, comfortable service and access to many different areas in a short amount of time. Fresh snow, perfectly groomed slopes and magnificent landscapes promise unforgettable moments. But that's not all!

In fact, apart from skiing, there are many other things to see and do in South Tyrol and the Family Hotel Posta in particular, has many outdoor activities on offer. Activities include a guided ski safari with Silvio, winter hiking and snowshoeing with Christoph. Our hotel shuttle bus will take you where you need to go for the day and back to the hotel upon return.

Skiguiding

Silvio, the hotel’s guide, is available daily to accompany you in discovering the most beautiful ski resorts in South Tyrol. A guided ski tour or ski safari along well-known trails in the region, is available for all levels from beginners to the most experienced skiers. Whatever your choice of ski activities, one thing is certain: the snow in Val Gardena and landscapes will leave you speechless.

Winter walking and snowshoeing

Twice a week, our expert mountain guide Christoph is available to take you snowshoeing in the silence of nature, broken only by the delicate crunch of the snow, step by step. Who doesn’t love the magic of the snow-covered landscape? All you need to do to enjoy it is to put on a pair of snowshoes!

There are different tours with varying degrees of difficulty that will allow you to experience the most spectacular views of Val Gardena. Also without snowshoes, it is a real joy to immerse yourself in the silent nature of Val Gardena. The winter walks are all about peaceful moments in this deeply silent winter wonderland. This is an experience that we recommend you do not miss!

Cross-country skiing

Cross-country skiing in South Tyrol is every bit as popular as downhill skiing. It is a sport that is fast becoming more popular with lovers of snow and nature. It is a highly satisfying sport that effectively uses the majority of the muscles in the body. As well as this, it does not harm the earth, and almost anyone can have a go. Val Gardena is full of loops of varying difficulty, integrated in an overall course of 1,174 km total offered across the Dolomite area. We suggest taking the higher altitude routes, which offer stunning views and are considered among the finest anywhere in Europe.

Mount Pana: just above Santa Cristina there stands a sunny plateau, which boasts 30 kilometres of trails to the bottom.

Siusi Alpes: the largest Alpine region in Europe, characterised by a fantastic network of over 60 km of trails for skiing.

"Nordic Active Park" in Vallunga: a simply wonderful area. Perfect for Nordic Walking in summer, it turns into a snowy field in winter with a path that winds 12 km long, great for cross-country skiing.
